Drui, Druii, Draoi R0011

Drui, Druii, Draoi R0011, Roots of word Druid >> The word “druid,” or rather druides, is first attested in Latin and Greek, though it is of Celticorigin. Irish forms of drui (singular) and druid occur fairly frequently in medieval Irish literature, though mostly as references made in passing, and much more often than the Welsh cognate drywoccurs in in early Welsh.<< Ref. http://www.digitalmedievalist.com/opinionated-celtic-faqs/druids/ >>The word is the plural of the title Drui (or Draoi) and Anglicized into a singular term. Theywere the ‘learned elite’ not unlike the Brāhmana (Anglicized as Brahmin) of Vedic cultureor the Philosopher/Teacher of Greek tradition. Draíocht R0010

Draíocht R0010 Druid Magick(Did Druids do Magick ?) Although seldom discussed in Face book groups of Druid major organizations or interest pages(that I am a member of) in our ancient past we were considered the Masters of Magick, Conjure,Curses, Rosc and Spells. So here is a word / term dear to my Un-Reformed Druid Heart. TDK Draíocht - One of the three primary arts, the word is used to refer to what we would now called"magick" (in both the simple and the ritual sense). It means "the use of powers to effect ends."Spell-casting, the use of evocations and invocations, the practice of chanting, circle dancing(intended to bring about a particular end) and other arts are all considered disciplines of draíocht. http://www.isisbooks.com/celtic-springs.asp Google Translate: Ár nDraíocht Féin > Our Own Draíocht Féin . > Own Ár > Our draíocht > I like our Magic as Defination. Etymology draoi + -acht, a Noun draíocht f druidic art, magic, enchantment

Doire R0009

Doire R0009 Doire (IG) > The origin of the word ‘Druid’’ is unclear, but the most popular view is that it comesfrom ‘doire’, an Irish-Gaelic word for oak tree (often a symbol of knowledge), also meaning‘wisdom’. Druids were concerned with the natural world and its powers, and considered treessacred, particularly the oak. Druidism can be described as a shamanic religion, as it relied on a combination of contact with thespirit world and holistic medicines to treat (and sometimes cause) illnesses. They were said tohave induced insanity in people and been accurate fortune tellers. Some of their knowledge of theearth and space may have come from megalithic times. Update 082822, Celtic-Druidic Belieftoids & Factoids Project

Update 082822, Celtic-Druidic Belieftoids & Factoids Project: After recovery of missing Hard Drive files, and days of thinking about Citation protocols. I have had to reformat all the unit blogs to make searching easier. and have decided on a reverse search method from my original plans of the hundreds of pre-WWII Druidic referencing documents, books, and MSS, I have copies of. Searching for ( Belieftoids & Factoids) units. If they match the Blogs Rxxxx units I will assign those numbers, the document under study, and the document/ page # to the blogs. If the Document has units not categorized by the blog, these new units/facts will be added to the blog Master as new Rxxxx blogs. This will allow fully completing the goal of finding the Root Sources, without dealing with hundreds of much later repeating documents. TDK

Worship and Rites R0016

Worship and Rites R0016 From the theology of Druidism we pass to its worship and rites. Some of these riteswere curious, others were picturesque, and others were repulsive and horrible. If thefi rst, the curious, but not less credulous than curious, was the Druid’s egg. This eggappears to have been an object of some interest to the ancients, seeing they speak ofit, and some of the aver having actually seen and handled it. Of the number who havespecially described it is Pliny. If half of what is related of this egg be true, it must be tous, as it was to the ancients, an object of no litt le wonder. It was formed of the scum ofserpents. As the snakes twisted and writhed in a tangled knot, the egg, produced insome mysterious way, was seen to emerge from the foaming mass of vipers, and fl oatupward into the air.1 It was caught by the priests while in the priests while in the act offalling. The Druid who found himself the fortunate possessor of this invaluable treasuretook instant meas...

Books directory list sorting Question

I have a desire to have one Master Hard Drive directory with all my saved books. So I can easily see if I already have something. But want to make it useful and easier to check, thinking of doing a Subject - Publication date (dealing with 11th-20th century books where I would like o access the oldest first) Perhaps a rigger word hit count (like a number of times druid appears) Real title. This would allow Visual Subject/Category sorting without subdirectories. Your thoughts or your own solutions appreciated [Sign My Guestbook] [View My Guestbook] Powered by E-Guestbooks Server .

Druid's egg, anguinum; glain y nidir; mân macal R0015

Druid's egg, anguinum; glain y nidir; mân macal R0015 (Perhaps the very last pieces of recorded Druid High Tech equipment and the reason writtenrecords were not needed by the High Ones while the Eggs still worked. Theory by TDK, and yes I can make a good legal case for this theory also.) Druid's Egg > anguinum (?) ? Druid's egg AKA: anguinum; glain y nidir; mân macal According to Pliny's Natural History, XXIX.52.: There is also another kind of egg, of much renown in the Gallic provinces, but ignored by the Greeks. Inthe summer, numberless snakes entwine themselves into a ball, held together by a secreti on from theirbodies and by their spitt le. this is called anguinum. The Druids say that hissing serpents throw this up intothe air, and that it must be caught in a cloak, and not allowed to touch the ground; and that one mustinstantly take fl ight on horse-back, as the serpents will pursue unti l some stream cuts them out. It may betested, they say, by seeing if it ...

Blog Link and Info 08232024

Celtic-Druidic Belieftoids/Factoids 082320222 update. After much consideration, I have concluded that a new Blog dedicated to this project is the best method of creating, storing, updating, publishing, sharing, and discussing them. I have also added a Guest book to this new blog, to allow sending us private messages and your email address, if you would like to get notified when one is published or updated. Note: These are living blogs and will be updated as new materials and time allow! I am adding units numbered R0001 to possible R9999. New units are going in randomly, as I review my older work and studies. After I have exhausted my ideas for units and finished an organizational structure for Hash-Tag searches of the blog. I will try and address the best ways to Citation the earliest found publications of these ideas, concepts, claimed beliefs, facts, or practices. And to what level of copying these sources' content should be done. Here is a link to the new Blog, should you want ...

Factoids Belieftoids List Druidism

Factoids Belieftoids List Druidism D:: Druid What is a Druid? Modern. A PERSON WHO HAS ACHIEVED THE GRADE OF DRUID IN AN ESOTERIC OR SPIRITUAL SOCIETY. Some of the Revival era Druid groups adopted the grades of Bard, Ovate, and Druid from Classical sources. In this scheme, one might describe oneself as a Druid only when one has been initiated into that grade or when one has completed training for that grade. This is in some ways comparable to the "degrees" of ceremonial magic or academia. Ancient: The ancient Celtic Druids were: Ritual or sacrificial leaders. Scholars and teachers; Advisors to kings and other leaders; Judges and legal historians; Druids had finnal approval on all tribal death sentices. Seers or Diviners; Poets; Magicians or "Wizards". The ancient Celtic Druids did: Druids underwent extensive training (a course of 20 years is mentioned)? Druids used Stonehenge as a ritual sit...

The Deconstruction of a Religion, Science, or Philosophy,

The Deconstruction of a Religion, Science, or Philosophy, into a list of small concepts and behaviors, is a very possible and practical process, I-Believe (TDK). First, we need to accept, that most systems of knowledge are driven by two small concepts. One Factoids, things, that are accepted as real, often testable, and repeatable. Two Belieftoids, things that a believed to be real, or wished to be real. Often Belieftoids may also be factoids, in the fact that evidence, of their existence and practice by groups of peoples, social, religious, technical, or political of the past and present. These two small data units, while there may be large quantity of them, now translate into a few functions. Passively held units, that do not affect your external behaviors. Actively held units, that affect your external behaviors in some ways. And Actionable units that are, can be, or should be used in some process or your life. So the deconstruction I believe consists, first of gathering all possibl...

Introduction to Celtic-Druidic Belieftoids & Factiods.

Image
(Everything here is in a rough draft or just storage for future references mode 09112022) Several years ago I keep noticing how modern articles and books about the Druids of ancient times keep having common factoids or beliefs of the Druids and practices and lifestyles. Yet all references, if any were circular to recent modern books quoting each other. So I started breaking down these common statements or claims, and trying to find their original or oldest published (and translated into Engish) sources. This was not an easy task but an enlighting one. Here we will try to identify these Belieftoids and Factoids, then locate and document their root sources.
